Variety Of Flowers

Australia has a thriving flower growing industry. Flowers are grown from the tropical north around Darwin and Far North Queensland through to Tasmania as well as being imported from many countries around the world. Our Tropical flowers come from the north of the country and many are regularly flown in from Singapore. Tasmania in turn supplies tulips to many parts of Australia. through the combination of imports and glasshouse growing practices, the vast number of varieties of flowers are available all year round. The price does vary for most varieties however throughout the year depending on cost of production and supply availability. The quality of Australian flowers is world class.

Care of Flowers

Longer life for your flowers can be achieved by good flower care firstly by the growers, secondly care in transporting, thirdly care by your florist and finally care by the flower recipient. For the recipient, the golden rules are to cut the ends of your flowers, change the water regularly, and suitable placement of the flowers (avoid wind, direct sun and placing near fruit). Seasonality of Flowers

Many flowers are available all year round in Australia. This is a consequence of glasshouse growing of varieties such as roses and gerberas. However imports are used to supplement stock especially during Australia's winter. Roses are imported from countries as disparate as Kenya, Columbia, India, China and Israel.
